FROM THE CARPATHS TO THE DON HISTORY OF THE HUNGARIAN ARMORED ARMORED FROM 1928 TO 1945 PIERRE GRASSER

Alongside III. Reich during the Second World War, Hungary developed a military industry that was far from anecdotal, so much so that Berlin found an ally here that did not need to be significantly armed! Thus, the Toldi and Turán tanks, the 40.M Nimrod and 43.M Zrínyi II self-propelled guns and the 39.M Csaba armored cars will constitute the spearhead of the Hungarian mechanized divisions launched to attack the Soviet giant. Faced with the formidable rise in power of the Red Army, Budapest will then develop increasingly sophisticated machines. However, faced with the gigantic potential of Moscow's troops, Honvéd will have to equip itself with German equipment, such as Panzer IV lang. Richly illustrated with photos and profiles, this book describes all of Honvéd's armored vehicles, from the frail 38.M Toldi to the 44.M Tas battle tank project, with such modern lines. There would be little history of Hungarian armored vehicles without the soldiers who served them, who get their place in these pages. The operational commitment of the Hungarian armored force is finally retraced: certain Hungarian track shoes screeched from 1939 against the Slovak forces, until the end of April 1945 in the Austrian clearings.
