Why a sequel to “Camions de chez nous”? Quite simply, because time passes, the truck evolves and thus we continue our historical visit. Going down in time, we arrive at the 60s and 70s, years when the French industrial vehicle industry will have to complete its internal transformation begun at the Liberation, years when it will also have to admit Europe and abandon all hope of maintaining a market hexagonal protected from all competition. Beyond these economic considerations, “Trucks, colors from home” also allows us to use color because, it was in these years that manufacturers and bodybuilders abandoned black and white shots. The photographs in this book come partly from these archives, but also from those created over time, during walks which had only one goal, to capture trucks on film before they disappear. This made it possible to preserve some rare animals seized while they were at work, some for a very short time. All the photos of equipment in action were therefore taken on the spot, and bring to the book all the value and rarity of photographic testimonies created day after day.
